Handpiece Donation

Brandon Bergman, Regional Manager, Henry Schein New Mexico / El Paso; Greg Morton, DentalEZ Group Territory Sales Manager; and Donna Nelson, Field Sales Consultant, Henry Schein New Mexico

StarDental® recently donated two low-speed handpiece set-ups to the G3 Foundation for an upcoming trip to the Dominican Republic. The G3 Foundation was established by Dr. Len Aste and Dr. R. Ganon Rowan to provide dental care internationally to remote areas in need, to provide doctors and students with a humanitarian and cultural experience and to provide dental students with an opportunity to use modern dental procedures in a real life setting.

Dr. Rowan with Greg Morton, DentalEZ Group Territory Sales Manager

Dr. Aste practices dentistry in Manti, UT, while Dr. Rowan practices in Albuquerque, NM. Early next year, they will lead a team of 52 to the Dominican Republic with 10 portable units. They will perform a number of dental procedures that can be completed in one visit from endodontic to oral surgery, covering general to pediatric dentistry. The need for dental care in the Dominican Republic is significant, and Dr. Aste and Rowan aspire to provide 1,000 plus locals with the care they need.

The birth of the G3 Foundation began on a mission trip Dr. Rowan took to the Dominican Republic in 1995, before Dr. Rowan attended dental school. On this trip, Rowan saw firsthand how the people of this 3rd world country struggled and endured such hardships.

In 2000, while Rowan was in dental school, he had the opportunity to gather a group of his peers and bring some much needed dental care to the people of the Dominican Republic. After the first trip in 2000, these outings became a yearly tradition. Dr. Rowan hasn’t missed a year since 2001! Rowan explains that he has been financially blessed to be a dentist and feels morally obligated to help others. He feels a special calling to bring dental care to those less fortunate.

It’s been so meaningful for us, at DentalEZ, to have the opportunity to contribute to this wonderful cause! We are so thankful our StarDental slow-speed handpieces can help dentists provide the oral care needed for those less-fortunate.

Thanks to StarDental for their willingness to step forth and so generously give to this worthy cause. I believe we all have been called to help those in need and when someone taps us on the shoulder to ask for help and we rise up to meet that need, we receive such joyful blessings knowing that we were able to help in some small way. I really admire StarDental for quickly coming to our aid and without hesitation, giving so freely the gift of these slow speed hand piece set ups. The dentists who are donating their skill and time will now have the tools they need to treat many because of your kindness. May God bless your business, StarDental.
    Sincerely,
    Donna Nelson
